For my daughter's birthday I wanted to make sugar cookies; so, of course, I needed to try out a recipe and try my hand at design before I went all out for her. To see if I could even do it. I went on Pinterest, humanity's best friend for finding info quick, and found an awesome recipe on the blog Sweetopia and instruction manual on how to ice/make icing.
I decided to make some cookies for a pool party my younger sister was hosting at her new place. So both a hostess/new home gift. Turned out good, not as professional as I was hoping, but everyone seemed to find them fun and the cookies tasted great. The little one's enjoyed their specialized cookies. Used food colouring markers for drawing on the cookies.

Lately I have been busy, what with the baby coming in 8 weeks, having an almost 3 year old on my hands, and trying to finish off my work before going on maternity leave. However, I have also been busy doing fun stuff I love, like creating design elements for my little girls 3rd birthday party. As well as planning and prepping for making sugar cookies, cake, and other delicious treats. It's been an absolute blast, post to come shortly. Below is a sneak peak, cookie packaging. For now, I am working on a maternity book, which I created using inspiration from this blog post: Mama Mia's Maternity Book. I have changed it up to suit me more (blackboard colour backgrounds, different fonts, my own photos, etc.). I am very excited to be doing this, as I usually go through Shutterfly and use their pre-made designs. I am excited to see how this one is going to turn out, using a small book size, with flat lying pages. This is a change up to what we did for our other little one (we did the whole photo shoot and did a pre-made design). This one I am using images from throughout the pregnancy and thoughts about the experience. So each babe has their own unique item.
