On the guest signing table were programs. The mother of the groom showed me a design she liked and asked me to make something similar. I crafted those, and she printed them. It was so fun to do and I was glad to be able to contribute a small part to this wedding and this wonderful couple.
Their colours were orange and purple, with a hint of fall. So the pumpkins fit perfectly. Also, loved the white pumpkins with Mr. & Mrs. printed on them. The wooden heart with their initials was given to them as a bridal shower gift by one of his aunts. It is beautiful, and so unique and went so well with their simplistic fall look.
They also had some candy machines donated to them, which they put out and had $.25 candy in with a sign saying 'Honeymoon fund' (too cute!). It was open bar, and my drink choice of the night was vodka cranberry (I associate that with fall for some reason). It was very good. Dessert consisted of a selection of pies: apple or pumpkin. I went with pumpkin, added whipped cream, and indulged in the large tray of fruit. Soooo good! The late night meal was also very good. With buns, meat, cheese, pasta salad, veggies and crackers. As well as, a late night treat table with nanaimo bars, chocolate eclairs, puff pastries, brownies and more. It was complete with either coffee or tea. Was impressed. The event was beautiful, but the main point was that the couple really seemed to truly enjoy themselves and were able to show their love for each other. They had all of the support of their families surrounding them on their joyous day. I continue to be impressed with how weddings take shape, how people show their personalities with the minor details, how families can come together and help when they are needed. It's amazing what people can do for each other and for others. The presence of love on such a day is overwhelming. I was so happy our kids were finally able to join us at a wedding and see what it is all about. While my daughter said the speeches were boring, she loved running and dancing with her cousins. She also loved the candy bar, maybe a little too much. Was so happy to have my son fall asleep in my arm while slow dancing, and to see my husband laughing with his family. Was a perfect evening, and while it was a late night, it is a day we will not be forgetting or regretting in the least. Congratulations to the lovely couple, we wish them many year's of wedded bliss. Like I said to the bride, "Welcome to this crazy, but amazing, family".
