This past weekend our little family unit took a trip out to Ottawa to attend our niece's first birthday party. Our little one was amazing the whole time, could not believe it. We only had to stop once on the way there and once on the way home. And all so we could feed her, change her, and let her run around for 10 minutes or so. Otherwise she slept halfway and the rest she was babbling or reading her book with her legs crossed (as she tends to do, cause she's cool). So it was pretty fun going there. We also stayed with her in a hotel for the first time and she had a blast running around the room. It was so open and baby friendly, plus we had a king size bed, which meant she could come up and snuggle all she wanted with lots of room for all of us. It was luxury! On Friday night, we joined the rest of our family who had come, and my sister and her husband who live in Ottawa, for a traditional Swiss Chalet Christmas dinner. We have done this for years, since we were young, and even though Swiss Chalet isn't the most fancy meal, it's still good and not too expensive. Plus, we had to take advantage of the fact we were all there. I had a great chicken flat bread with a nice salad. Plus I got to pick at some of my aunt's sweet potato fries, as she kept insisting I have some (and I love sweet potato fries). Our babe was a little boisterous come the end of the night and had to be walked around the restaurant, and when we finally got her home and gave her some milk she was up running around until 10 pm. Talk about us being wiped and her being ready to party...
Our drive home was quiet with the babe asleep half the time. When we did finally make it home we got comfy, cleaned up a bit and cuddled with the little one while watching Beauty and the Beast. Great trip <3
