Our park outing was to Waterloo Park, one of our favourite places in the city. It has everything; playgrounds, a boardwalk, animals, picnic area, and a field for playing sports. What more could you ask for?
For lunch on Thursday, with my coworker, we tried out B at THEMUSEUM. The food was delicious, very rich, but so good. Our server was excellent, she was so friendly. I had the special: Sicilian Sausage gnocchi, with cherry tomatoes and roasted red peppers in a gorgonzola cream sauce. Had a hard time finishing, as there was so much and it was so rich, but yum! My coworker had the spicy soup special, recommended by someone as she was leaving, and the B.urger. She enjoyed it, although it was more food than it first appeared to be. Recommend trying this place; love the decor, friendly staff, and if you have wee ones it is very welcoming. You could also stop in at THEMUSEUM afterwards for some kid friendly fun. Saturday, we met some friends for brunch at The Duke of Wellington, which has really started to go down in my books. It used to be our go-to place for brunch...but it took quite a while to get our food, and we were in the solarium which was burning us up. I never got a refill on my water, and my daughter couldn't sit still it took so long and she was hot. The food was only okay, average breakfast fare. I think we will have to switch our go-to spot, no longer being a student means needing a bit more to our experience...applications welcome. We had another group of friends over for a BBQ, complete with delicious salads provided by our guests, burgers by my husband and a Mayan Chocolate Cake courtesy my daughter and me (which my daughter had been wanting to make for weeks, but needed an occasion to bring out). Turned out awesome, loved the kick of cayenne pepper. Thanks to the Milk Calendar, knew I would eventually make something from it. Well, this week might need to be a bit more laid back, what with a sick, non-sleeping baby on my hands. However, I am looking forward to his and his sisters classes this week. Great reason to get out with them and enjoy the day.
