That night my parent's had agreed to watch the babe, so my husband and I could go see The Way Way Back at the Princess Twin (we won tickets at the first Music & Movies in the Park). We were pleasantly surprised at how moving and emotional the film was. The acting was so spot on, and the premise was very real and heartfelt. We found out that Jim Rash is one of the writer's, so it makes sense it was so well put together (shout-out to the Dean from Community). Sam Rockwell was amazing, I just loved his character and how funny he was and how much he cared for Duncan almost immediately. Steve Carell really made you hate his character, so great acting on his part (so different from his usual comedic self). By the end you were really routing for Duncan to just kick him in the nuts (sorry for the wording). No spoilers, but Duncan showed what he was made of, and the film ended not the way you would expect, but the way you realized it had to. I suggest going to see this film!
It was so nice to just go out and be with my husband for a while, to not think of the babe, to be just us again for a bit. We walked back to the car cuddled together, talking about how much we enjoyed the film. We will have to do this more often, or at least more than every six months, haha. Next movie choice, Austenland! Also, sorry for the photo quality, forgot my camera and made do with my husbands phone and Instagram.
