My husband and I went on our official first date on March 18, 2006. It's been a wonderful 8 years, full of amazing life changes. I cannot imagine my life without him, and the life we made together is amazingly perfect.
Yesterday, although it's no longer our official anniversary, we decided to go out for lunch together. We picked a time when we could go and not have to give up any time with the little one. Since we work so close together, we try every week to meet up for lunch or coffee at least once. So this worked out perfectly. I let him choose the place and treated him to lunch. He picked Bistro Nash, which is connected to Entertaining Elements in Kitchener. Entertaining Elements is a different kind of eating establishment, where you book in a small group and a professional chef cooks solely for your group. Bistro Nash is open during the day and serves soups and sandwiches, and you can see the cooking area for Entertaining Elements; it is also connected to a kitchen store and room you can book for meetings. Had a nice atmosphere, and everyone serving was friendly (everyone we passed on the way out told us to 'have a nice day'). It's a very interesting setup, which is quite popular in the spring/summer months with little tables set outside. I picked the pesto chicken with brie sandwich, with a side of sweet potato and roasted red pepper soup. My husband chose the chili lime chicken wrap, no side (although it came with chips). We made the right decision, we split the sandwiches half and half, as we're want to do, and shared both the soup and chips. You could taste the lime in the chicken wrap, and avocado (my fav) was a delicious surprise. The pesto chicken was melt in your mouth, with just the right amount of brie to intensify the flavour. It was mouth watering, and as we were both hungry, it hit the spot. We will definitely be going back.
