The only thing that really kept me grounded in this big change, was knowing that our little one was over the moon to be in her own big girl bed. When it was put together she jumped right on and bounced around, then wanted me to climb in and read her a few books. So, I knew, that even while I had lost that little baby I once held so close in my arms, who needed me so much to grow, I was gaining this independent, spirited, little girl who reminded me so much of myself. While one chapter may have closed, it seems another, even more exciting chapter is beginning. So, no tears, just smiles, and warmth and love.
By the way, she slept pretty well. Never fell off, was a little warm so she took her socks off in the night, but other than that, seemed to work wonders for our non-sleeper.
