The gritty realism of the comics pulls you right into the Star Wars universe; with criminal underbellies and a new baddie in Agent Terex. Terex is a fascinating character and I enjoyed learning his back story in the second installation. He makes a good adversary for Poe, both think they are indestructible and are risk takers with little fear. I also enjoyed meeting the rest of the Black Squadron, the elite team of resistance fighter that Poe recruited on to his team of ace pilots. Although, it would be great to have more back story on each character. I also felt some scenes dragged on too long or made little sense, but the overall feel of the graphic novels melded well with the rest of the Star Wars canon. Great colour use, contrasting good and bad, muck for criminals, bright colours used in fight or action scenes to add oomph. I am excited to read the next installment, as Poe is quickly becoming my favourite of the new cast. If you are a fan of Star Wars, these are a great addition to your vast Star Wars knowledge. If you are just coming in to this epic story, these are a fun read with lots of action and an interesting plot.
