This past weekend was the 25th Anniversary of the Sun Life Financial Waterloo Busker's Carnival. We managed to make it out to three of the four days. On Thursday, we met up with two of our friends to see Steven Page perform live, for free, in the square. It was fantastic! He played some of his new stuff, which my husband and I enjoy, but he also played many of his BNL hits: Enid, Jane, The Old Apartment and Brian Wilson. It's amazing how much he sounds the same, as when Barenaked Ladies first started out. He was great, and the square was the busiest I have ever seen it.
Check out the teardrop trailer that stopped by Busker's Carnival. According to their website, "A Tale of the Town is a site-specific theatre and media project that celebrates Canadian neighbourhoods by preserving their recent past, recognizing their present glory, and vying for their future." What an interesting idea, but I love that they are using a teardrop trailer to advertise for their project. If you are interested in learning more about them, visit: thetaleofatown.com.
