(To the right) Sausage: house made with sauerkraut and mustard aioli, from Nick & Nat's UpTown 21 (4 tickets). My husband's favourite. We had it cut in two, so we could give some without sauerkraut to the wee one. Was delicious, and a full meal in itself.
On Thursday evening at the cottage, we decided to go into town and try out The Little Pie Shack we had passed a couple days before. It was pink, and fluffy, and delicious looking. The perfect small town eatery for all things sweet.
Last week our little family took a vacation with some good friends of ours. We rented a cottage on Sturgeon Lake, near Fenelon Falls. The cottage was smaller than we thought it was from the photos, but it was a wonderful escape full of adventure, laughs and general happiness.
My husband found the cottage and did all of the leg work, which was a nice change, as I am usually the instigator. But with a little one on the way, my energy levels are very low. Instead of going south to a tropical island, a cottage was the perfect destination to go with our good friends, especially ones travelling from a far distance.
