On the way home from the cottage, we decided to stop in Ottawa to stay with my sister's family for a couple days. This meant that on the Friday we had some time to kill, before her and her husband were off work. My husband wanted to stop at Beau's Brewery, and I had a restaurant in mind for lunch in Hawkesbury, Le Petit Pain (found on Trip Advisor).
On the Wednesday of our trip to Quebec, we had originally planned for a strop in to Montreal, but changed our minds. We decided instead to visit Mont Tremblant, a short 45 minute drive away.
Boy were we glad we did. Impressed by everything about Mont Tremblant. We did have to park in the 3rd parking lot, but there was a bus to take us to the base of the mountain right away. The only sour point for me, we paid extra for the gondola ride up to get meals on top of the mountain. When we got up the selection was terrible and unappetizing. Regret not bringing our own picnic. The only great thing about the restaurant was the view while we ate. When we booked our vacation we used Airbnb, and we found the perfect place. It is a family run cottage in a small cottage community forty-five minutes from Mont Tremblant. The cottage was amazing, had everything we could ever need. Was very family friendly; a baby gate at the top of the stairs, a travel crib, a high chair, toys for both kids (including a little kitchen and tons of grocery toys). A short walk to a private beach, which was empty most of the week. Walking trails around the place, a big property, and netting around the outdoor deck table for having a lovely meal outside in the evening. It was bliss. We loved meals with the kiddos, swimming with them, using the paddle boat, and evenings watching Parks and Recreation together with a cold beverage. Highly recommend staying at Isabelle's if you are travelling to Quebec.
It was amazing to see a community come together and host such an amazing event. Bands, food trucks, entertainers, vendors, games for kids, just tons going on all at once. They even gave our daughter a prize for her colouring, which she loved. Apparently, they had over 5,000 people attend. WOW!
