Cocktail Reception on the Farm
Dinner Reception at the Portuguese Club
The cake was two tiered, with a short and a long tier, with simple white roses on it. The meal was delicious. Started with chicken noodle soup (all served family style), then enjoyed a garden salad. We had two choices of meat, spinach and feta stuffed chicken and roast beef (both were melt in your mouth). The mixed vegetables were also quite tasty. The star of the show though, were the Parisienne potatoes, wow, spiced just right, perfectly round, and cooked to perfection. For dessert, a very delectable, and rich, cheesecake topped with cherries.
The dinner was interspersed with speeches, which was a nice break up of the evening. Kisses were achieved by a guest going up and picking out of a jar. If they got a Hershey kiss than the bride and groom would kiss, if they got a Hershey hug than the guest would have to pick someone from the crowd to kiss. So simple, yet so fun! We managed to slow dance to two songs, and enjoy a few fast tunes, before we decided it was time to head home. We had a two hour drive to go. We missed out on cupcakes, and also the midnight meal, but I am sure they would have been just as amazing. Really enjoyed being able to share in this special day. The Bride and Groom looked positively glowing with happiness and love for one another.
