It was fun, but a lot of work. Keeping tabs on a little one, while trying to avoid all of the people and mad rush.
Sunday night we partook in Story time, the kids sitting in the front and us adults in the back. Was very hard to hear the characters talking, and was quite long, but the kids seemed to love it. Although, our little one was so tired from an exciting day that she ended up passing out halfway through. We went with the food plan option, $50 a day/adult, free for kids under 3. Turned out to be a great idea. The dinner had tons of options at the buffet. Really enjoyed the pork tenderloin, mac & cheese, and the pear and beet root gnocchi. Went for seconds. The dessert was unbelievable...anything you could think of, even Crème brûlée! I enjoyed the overturned muffin with cherry filling, whipped cream and a chocolate on top, and even took a butter tart to go with my tea. Breakfast was good as well, but they were sorely lacking in bacon. Although, they seemed to think peameal bacon made up for it...it did not. The sausage, huevos rancheros and deep fried french toast sticks were delicious! Couldn't eat as much as dinner though. Lunch we got a voucher for a combo meal, with three different locations to choose from, we went with the burgers and fries (hot dog and fries for our little one). The least exciting of all of the meals, but still pretty decent and just the right amount before going back into the water park. We enjoyed ourselves, spending time with the family, and the little getaway from work for a day. However, we probably wouldn't go back until our little one was a little older and could do more of the slides. On the ride home we took the scenic route around the back of the Lodge, where we could see the escarpment, passed by the dam, and saw the sunset through the parks and trees. Was a beautiful end to a wonderful weekend.
