We walked around the park, enjoyed the new accessible playground and all of the animals (mostly the birds, since our babe loves honking at the geese and cawing at the chickens). I sat on the bench and watched as my baby girl went about exploring the park, enjoying the company of other children, following leads, and just taking it all in. She didn't necessarily make any new friends, but she showed how observant she is, and how much she enjoys playing with others and by herself. She is so independent, while at the same time she will ask for our help when she knows she needs it. She is such a brilliant little babe. When we decided to finally leave it was on her terms, she simply walked away from the playground. We knew we could head home then. We went back and my husband cooked a dinner of my request: ribs, mashed potatoes, beets, fiddle heads and broccoli. It was mouth watering and I loved just listening to Cat Stevens on the record player outside while my husband barbecued. Even the babe looked super cool in shades and a hat, while sitting on a kid size chair or dancing around the deck in her foot stomping kind of way. The babe lasted until 7:30, which was good for her, being up so early and being sick with a cold/rash. So when she passed out in her crib, after I gave her tons of kisses and a bit of a bottle while daddy read to her, we had some cherry pie. I wanted to try the new place in Waterloo, Sweet and Savoury Pie Company, and to be honest I was a little disappointed. But I don't think it was their fault, it was a sour cherry pie, and I only like sweet cherry pie. So I couldn't really enjoy it like I wanted to...I am sure if it was sweet and not tart I would have loved it. We will have to try them again, but maybe get a Pecan pie, those are usually only made one way, and I know my husband loves that. Cherry pie is my favourite, so I was sad it wasn't made to my liking. But it still couldn't dampen my amazingly perfect and wonderful day. Final touch, cuddling up and watching a movie with my husband, a junk movie at that: Bulletproof Monk. Icing on the cake!
