The best way to end any vacation is to spend some time at the beach, soaking in the sun. Grand Bend was our first choice, and it also worked out that we could visit my husband's family, who were camping close by. I was desperate for the beach; I love just sitting and reading in the sand, basking in the sun, and being able to just go out and swim if I want to. We didn't end up spending the day there, as the kids wanted to use the swimming pool at the camp ground instead, but my husband did manage to sneak us out around sunset to go and watch it sink over the water (the other most amazing time to go to any lake). So, I didn't get my full day in the sand, but we got the sunset, and that was enough.
