Sorry I have not written for over a week. I have been away on vacation with family. We spent a week at Stan's Cottages near Combermere, Ontario; away from the hustle/bustle of city living and out in the natural world with the water lapping at the shores and surrounding the campfire at sunset.
The first weekend was spent with my mom, aunt, sister, brother-in-law and our little ones cousin. We had a splendid time checking out Barry's Bay (had to stop as I forgot my bathing suit), making hamburgers and hot dogs the first night, my sister and her husband made pesto pasta and Italian sausage the next night. We enjoyed watching the cousins playing together, and watched as our little baby stole one toy after another from her younger cousin. She also liked to pet her hair and watch her as her cousin squirmed around on the wood floor trying to find purchase to sit. They sat together on the beach, where we bombarded them with bubbles for photos and their fun, our baby decided she wasn't a fan and kept trying to get away.
This is it for today, more to come later about the week. Tomorrow will be a break from the holiday, as my baby and I are attending a sign language class...so I want to talk about that. But we will be back on track Wednesday with some laughter, sigh seeing, cave diving, cottage fine dining, and general wonder with the beautiful views of Ontario.
My week: a slight breeze drifts over the bay and caresses the hair on my shoulders, I watch as a mother duck lazily floats by, with her babes on her back. Beside me is my husband sits, our shoulders resting together by design, and in between our little baby, as we watch and listen to the water lapping at the sides of the dock. We hear the melancholy call of the loon, the most beautiful and heart wrenching sound anyone can ever experience. We sit there, side by side, bundle in our laps and we let the seconds, minutes, hours float by.
