Family gatherings are my favourite, no matter the time of year. Especially with the amazing families we have, both mine and my hubbies. So really, any excuse to hang out is the best one! Thanksgiving is just a great reason to see all of them, and is my link from fall into Christmas season. I know, but as I told my friends yesterday, "I think about Christmas year round". I can't help it, it's my favourite time of year, my favourite season, my favourite for everything!!! I digress, Thanksgiving is an amazing time, because it includes beautiful fall weather, changing colours of leaves, delicious turkey dinners, and being with family.
Sunday I didn't have to work, so we ended up going to my husband's family. Like the day before, it was full of fun and happy times. The best experience of that day was seeing all the cousins, plus their young Uncle, sitting at a kiddie table together. Our little one was right in the middle, and by the end she was the only one still eating there, so it looked a little funny. But it was so AMAZING that we had a kiddie table, such a change from the year before when we were still waiting on the last of the 2012 babies to come and the other two were still too little to do anything but feed off mama and lie around. Their interaction is heartwarming, and they love to hang out and play and just be cousins!!! Having them all in the same age range is going to be the best gift they could ever get. Every time I watch them my eyes light up <3
We had more turkey, more delicious foods made by my husband's mom (she is too much!!!!!!!!) I loved the veggie casserole, loved the salad my sister-in-law made, the potatoes, the corn, the turkey. Could not resist the to-die-for pumpkin cheesecake my other sister-in-law made (so rich, so addictive, soooooo good). But the food doesn't much matter when the company is so great. I loved just sitting around, helping clean up, going outside to enjoy the nice weather, watching the kiddies play with little old Snoopy (the family dog). We shared laughs, love and all that we were thankful for. Loved the game my mother-in-law asked us to play, we each wrote two items we were thankful for and had to guess whose was whose. Our little one even put one in, courtesy of her dad, about her friends at daycare! It was a good weekend. Monday I worked in the afternoon, but in the morning we met up with one of our really good friends to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade (from our usual perch). It was nice out, there were lots of people there enjoying it and we then went for a hot beverage at the Huether. After work the little one, my husband and I went to the park so she could run on the grass and see the animals (which she was over excited to see). I love her squeals, specific to animals. Then we went home and we relaxed, ate left overs and just cuddled as a family. Next stop Halloween...even though we have no reason to dress up...maybe we should go a bit crazy when we go to the Aquarium or Rom in a couple weeks.

Sounds like a great weekend! We were up at the cottage and we actually went to a Christmas store on the Sunday and I could have spent all day there. I bought some cute little snowman salt and pepper shakers. Amelia even had Christmas music going! So it's okay to think about Christmas at anytime of the year if it brings you joy.
