This series was so well plotted, each novel building to the crescendo. Each character must confront their own hubris, look inside and truly understand what it means to be human. There is sacrifice, risk, sadness, but also hope, love and joy. The best chance all of these young Gods have is each other; they must come together and trust each other in order to break this perpetual loop of death and life. Harden your heart, because there are moments that will rip you apart. Characters you love will surprise you with uncharacteristic (but completely viable) actions. The artwork will blow your mind, with the vibrant colours juxtaposed with death and pain. Muted colours during intense and informative scenes, meant to focus the reader on the story, the facts, the truth. I highly recommend this series. For its inclusion, the artwork, the story, the sheer feistiness of Laura and the other Gods. There is gore, but it gels well with the overall theme of the graphic novel. I love the incorporation of musical fame with the God powers, and the explanation of it all is fascinating and original. This all really helps the reader grasp the idea, the fame of modern rock stars mixed with the ability to control a large group of people, a dangerous gift.
