Dinner the first night was going to be late, so we decided to grab some food from the restaurant based in the park. We got our daughter a grilled cheese and some sweet potato fries with chipotle aioli mayo for dipping (which we had to ask for as the forgot to give it to us). It was good, but quite expensive.
That night around the campfire we had hot dogs, s'mores and I popped open a delicious Sombersby. Was a quiet, relaxing night. The next day we stopped in Stratford on the way home, for lunch. We picked up sandwiches from The County Food Co. Our daughter had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, my husband enjoyed the stuffed pork schnitzel sandwich (sour dough bread, sauteed apple and rosemary, grain mustard and baby lettuce). I had the Crazy Chicken (tender chicken breast, smoked provolone cheese, arugula, roasted peppers and pesto served on a calabrese roll); it was very good. We sat by the Avon river at a picnic table, enjoying our lunch, and listening to the music from Ribfest (which was happening that weekend). It was the perfect way to end a wonderful family camping trip. Cannot wait until next year's excursion. For now we are looking forward to our next family vacation, a cottage, in Quebec, for a week.
