Over the next 30 days, my husband and I are taking the MindWell 30 Day Mindfulness Challenge together. We are going to learn how to Take 5 and return ourselves to the present, instead of reflecting on the past or worrying about the future. This will, hopefully, lead to less stress, more open mindedness and a presence in the moment with our children and ourselves. I am quite excited, and today was our first lesson. I am hoping this will help me to break out of some of the moments I fall into of questioning my self worth, becoming angry about situations I cannot control, stressing out over insignificant matters, or feeling as though I need to help in situations that do not affect me personally. Below is a graphic we received for understanding the five steps of the Take 5 model. Seems quite easy, and can be done several times a day without seeming to have to stop what you are doing.
Wish us luck on this journey together, I am thinking this will bring us even closer than we already are. Being married to my best friend often helps with learning, patience, love, and understanding.
