This was a very quick read, but I really enjoyed the length and the story. The snowed in with a former love interest, turned enemy, trope was perfectly executed. The banter and bickering kept my interests peaked, with obvious chemistry between the to leads. I also enjoyed that the story was written from both of their perspectives, so you could understand both of their motivations, pains, and overall emotions. There was quite a bit of repetition and hemming and hawing that gave way rather randomly. However, both characters back stories and mistrust were well mapped out and understandable. I liked the conflict and the resolutions. I felt it was realistic and the romance was not too over the top. These two characters were very broken, both now and in the past, but it takes their facing their own faults to mend their broken bits a little. I recommend this romance if you are looking for a quick, steamy, character driven read. Or, if you would like some holiday shenanigans and Christmas spirit in your book right now. Loved the pot with Christmas smells, the Christmas chili, and the inclusion of an annoyed/indifferent cat.
