This was your typical holiday rom-com twin swap story. It was cute, but felt a little cookie cutter to me. The romances needed a little more oomph, especially with Cass and the physician assistant Miguel. Their story was sort of ho-hum, not enough banter back and forth. It was insta-love, which is my least favourite trope. At least with Charlie and Jake I could feel the chemistry and their scenes felt more like a couple falling in love. The family element of the story was my favourite part, and the two sisters learning to appreciate each other more was super endearing. But, also them learning more about each other was the most heart warming aspect of the novel; finding their similarities and differences and realizing that just because one sister would handle a situation a certain way does not mean it is the right way for the other sister. They do truly stick up for one another, push each other to reach for exactly what they want. Both help each other to reevaluate their lives and what it is they are striving to achieve. Overall it was a sweet holiday story that checked all the boxes. If you love Hallmark Christmas movies than this book is a must read. It has all the basic ingredients to charm you and warm your heart. From true love, to familial love, to found family friendships that help to build the sisters confidence up. I just wish the romances had a bit more depth, and I think it was a matter of suffering from having to split too much time between the two different developing relationships. So, the author could never focus too long on one sister or the other.
