Sorry it's been a while since I have posted a blog. Been very busy this summer, feels like I need ten of me just to keep up with everything going on. Plus, by the end of the day I am exhausted and my feet feel three times too big, so the comfy couch and Netflix, after the little one is asleep, seem to be my go to favourites.
Anyways, a couple weeks ago I got to enjoy our workplace summer BBQ, complete with sponsors, volunteers, and lots of great food. Took place at our Festhalle, Hubertushaus, which is a great location with delicious food, delightful atmosphere (water fountain in front) and amazing hospitality. This is where the staff at KWO go for opening night dinner (rollbraten and spaetzle, mmmmmm). Lancaster Smokehouse provided a whole pig for a roast, and I enjoyed the pulled pork on a bun that came from it (melt-in-your-mouth). The corn is always a favourite, and I managed to eat most of my sausage (but no Oktoberfest mustard, what gives?) The games were pretty good as well, got roped into scoring one of them, but everyone seemed to have lots of fun. We also got to arrive in style, as we got a lift with our sponsors Brentwood Livery (great group of folks). Would love to win one of their awesome winery tour, or restaurant tour, packages.

Recently we have been finding ourselves out at Waterloo Park on Sundays, having a picnic in the park and enjoying the happenings there. A couple Sundays ago we enjoyed a leisurely bike ride there, the splash pad, the play area, the Park Inn, and a picnic while watching cricket. This past Sunday, we went to watch the Big Bandshell Concert Series, featuring the Waterloo Concert Band, and they were quite good. Our little one enjoyed dancing and running around half the time.
It was packed tight there, so tight that we had to keep a steady eye on the wee one. We also decided just to grab dinner, enjoy the outdoors a bit, check out the fire truck, then head home before the evening events (yes, we missed the fireworks).
A suggested collaboration was accepted with open arms by the museum, allowing it to be hosted at their venue, with access to the new Exhibit included. If you have a chance, go to the second event in the series (November 5), which will be holiday themed.
