It was so fun setting up the hunt for my little girl. Using the bunny headband she got from her Aunt and Uncle, she wore it while hunting, she collected her basket and followed the trail of plastic eggs to the basket left in her room. The eggs were filled with jelly beans, chocolate, or stickers. In the basket, other than the paintings and hand puppet, I especially loved the Sock It To Me socks and mermaid tattoos from Gifted. We also grabbed some gummy treats and jelly beans from bulk barn, cute easter pencils from dollarama, and a stuffed bunny and stuffed sheep (which used to be mine) to fill out the baskets. Our girl had so much fun hunting, finding and sharing with her brother; her practice the week before paid off big time.
My daughter helped make the dessert for our Easter at her Grandma and Grandpa's. We made Rice Krispies Easter Cups. She helped add ingredients and then put the eggs in the cups. We also brought a sourdough bread bowl with spinach dip and our go to salad: diced red cabbage, sliced apple, shaved carrots, and dried cranberries with an asian sesame dressing. When my daughter was home from daycare, we spent time dyeing eggs, she chose the colours and decorated the eggs when they were dry. They turned out fantastic, and tasted delicious as deviled eggs on Easter Monday morning. Yum! We also crafted a wreath together from an idea we found on pinterest, looked great on our front door. My sister-in-law, a great chef, treated us to our own tray of homemade spanakopita...it was too die for. Cheesy, spinachy, and deliciously wrapped in phyllo pastry. Lasted a couple meals, which made it that much more awesome. We had a wonderful time, my daughter loved all the hunts she got to go one, but loved spending time with her family even more. We could tell by the amount of time she spent running around with her cousins, smiling and playing her heart out.
