We then partook in a lovely and brisk, winter walk to the Royal Ontario Museum; the sun shining down on an idyllic Toronto landscape, while traversing the sidewalks along Queen's Park. This area is filled with old buildings, partially transporting you to Toronto's historic past.
When we arrived at the ROM, we found a beautiful ice sculpture outside and grabbed a few cute photographs, while enjoying the splendor of the ROM's facade (where traditional meets modern, and modern juts out into the sky). Once inside, our first destination was the kids area. Where the kids pretended to be dinosaurs and had a tea party. It was just so fun to watch them play together, and develop friendships. We hung out there most of our visit. The only other area we wanted to visit was the Dinosaur exhibit. My daughter was so exhausted from the long week and nights that she had little interest in the exhibits. But the dinosaurs are my favourite, and they are in the area the kids always love. The cube, where you can look out the windows at the cars passing by, and there is lots of room to run around. I personally love the T-Rex and the Stegosaurus bones, I mean wow! It's so hard to even contemplate that these immense creatures roamed this world, this area, before humans even came into existence. To think of how this world used to be, ruled by these mighty giants. Now all that is left are bones and theories. We all headed for the subway and back to Nana's. We stayed for dinner (pizza, yum!) and waited for the kids bedtime before heading out. Completing my nervous wreck week, which had many fun points as well. I have to remember how the good far outweighs the bad, whether it be facing my social anxiety or just finding energy when my body tells me I have none left. Besides, seeing those dinosaurs reminds me that time and life are fleeting things, we need to grasp each passing moment and hold on to it; especially with children, who seem even at this moment to be growing into intelligent, emotional beings, who sometimes show more maturity and understanding than adults.
