When you work in event planning and your event comes to an end it feels like you can finally breathe again and live your life. So, this past weekend, not having to work as I would have had to in the past, we managed to get in some family time. My mom and her sister came to visit and we all headed to St. Jacobs to check out the shops and the model train exhibit. The best part of the whole experience, the open space that our little one could run around in. She just loved running from window to window in the one gallery room, and couldn't get enough of banging on the window at the people below.
That same night, Saturday, my sister and her girlfriend visited for an hour too, a quick stop as they were in the area. We chatted, enjoyed the company, and talked about my dad's b-day party this coming weekend. He requested ravioli with home made meatballs, should be very delicious!
I had been craving my mom's macaroni casserole recipe for a while, so I broke down and made some for us. I added some mozzarella and feta, and crushed crackers on the top, but it still felt like being a kid at home. Plus enough left overs for a while... Sunday, we spent the morning enjoying the beautiful weather. Then we went for our photos in the afternoon at Huron Natural Area in Kitchener. We had never been there before and found it quite beautiful with all the changing colours. We went with a Million Words Photography Inc (Ada did our maternity photos, which we loved), this time Andrew, Ada's husband, took the photos. He was just as wonderful, nice and easy-going as she was. Plus, I believe the photographs are going to turn out better than we could have hoped. One of the photos he showed us was of my husband throwing our daughter in the air, and he managed to capture her mid-air on her way back into daddy's arms. I think we are going to love them, and have so many choices for our Christmas cards...uh oh, haha. For dinner, we enjoyed a pork roast my husband had prepared in the slow cooker earlier that day. Our little one had some delicious dinners this weekend which she thoroughly enjoyed. All in all, a good restful weekend, full of fun and family time.

Sounds like a wonderful time! I'm definitely intrigued with Hamel Brooms, love the idea of a Harry Potter like wizarding wand. I'll have to look into that! Thanks for the info!
